Yesterday Toshiba announced the Portege G810 at the 2008 Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona. The G810 is a Windows Mobile 6 Professional device that comes in a more fashionable form than we are used to seeing from Toshiba, which often focuses on enterprise customers.

With a definite nod towards general consumers, the G810 comes equipped with a video capable 3 megapixel, auto-focus camera. Toshiba has also included both HSDPA and HSUPA support in the G810 to make sure that photos and videos can be transferred up and down in a snap. The G810 is also the first Portege smartphone to offer HSUPA upload speeds. Better yet, the G810 supports HSDPA and HSUPA on the 850, 1900, and 2100MHz bands for global roaming capability when the quad-band GSM/EDGE support just doesn't cut it.

Other features of the G810 include a large 2.8" QVGA display, built-in GPS or A-GPS (depending on market and carrier), and an FM radio. The G810 supports Java applications and runs on a 400MHz Qualcomm processor. Toshiba expects that the G810's 1530mAh battery to be good for up to 4 hours of talk time or 8 days of standby time.
